Tungsten Carbide (TC) Inserts

Just now able to get my 8 inch cast iron table jointer set up. Have only run a couple small pieces through do far, but I am impressed with how well it performs. Set up perfectly right from the box. Seems very well built. Very pleased with the customer service. Would order again.

smooth

these are great tungsten carbide inserts for my steel city thickness planer. the key is to get them tight but not over tight. Yeah, tricky (as some bolts feel tight but aren't). Once done everything works smoothly

Great upgrade!

Got a Wen 2613 spiral planer with HHS cutters. They worked great but wore out fast. I decided to use these to upgrade them by attrition. I decided to take the plunge and switch them all out a few days ago. Took my time and made sure they were all in line and tightened properly and I have to say, an incredible difference. The finish these leave even in deep cuts on hardwood is almost glass. Well done with these and I’ll be upgrading my jointer soon as well.

Sharp blades work best

I have used my 40160H jointer more than I had anticipated I would since I bought it a little over 2 years ago. I originally had the HSS blades and had long ago rotated them to the second cutting edge. Most of my projects were using soft woods, very little hardwood. The HSS just didn't impress me for long term durability. I decided to try these tungsten carbide blades. I just received these the other day and put them on and tried them out. They fit perfect, as expected. What had been taking me several passes with the old blades, took only a single pass with the new blades. Cut great. This should be true for any new, sharp, blades (HSS too). Nevertheless, for the additional $15 over the HSS, you get TC blades. If they stay sharp longer, and hold up, that means more efficient work and less frustration; that alone is worth the additional price. Time will tell about long term durability, but so far I'm happy with this purchase.
