The planer is doing a very good job. Would highly recommend the planer.

The hardest part of setting it up was getting it out of the box. Have only run a few maple boards thur , did a nice job. Only took light cuts since it’s a hard wood.

I've been using this for a few months and run quarter sawn white oak, pine, walnut, poplar, and hickory through it. It planes smooth enough to not require much sanding and definitely doesn't leave any snipe or grooving. It occasionally has some chipping but that is due to the grain going up and down and certainly not an issue with the planer.

I made mine portable by mounting it on a heavy duty miter saw stand (Hercules from Harbor Freight). I just park it vertically along the garage wall and then wheel it out in the driveway when I'm doing millwork.

It's been three years since I wrote my first review of this benchtop planer. Nothing has changed except it is three years older and it is still a remarkable machine. Turns out my fears that the dust shoot might not be able to withstand attaching/disconnecting my dust collector never materialized. Because of user error, I crashed the gear box. Its replacement was not only affordable, but the Tech support was excellent. The repair process was straight forward. I have no reservations in recommending this machine and you shouldn't have any when considering it.
